Silas Thompson was raised in the Midwest and southern Idaho where he and his wife currently live. His passion for drawing and painting was fostered by his parents from a young age, and his frequent backpacking adventures with his father fueled his love of the distinct birthmarks and icons of beautiful rivers, valleys, and mountains which carve through the high desert and vast farmlands of the West. The distinctly imputed beauty in creation points him constantly to God for continued inspiration.
He learned to worship God through painting from his two mentors and teachers, Caleb Meyer and Robert Moore. He studied under these renowned artists for five years in which he cultivated his passion for painting. He now works with Moore where he is continuing to learn both technique and process. Great support and inspiration also comes from his wife Bianca.
