My focus in watercolor is to present these amazing animals from their perspective in nature. Take an osprey for example, diving for a fish or a bear standing in a river of red salmon. So many amazing things happen in nature at every moment. To capture these instances in a painting is what I love. The earth is filled with wildlife. We need to be aware and appreciate them—for this is their home too.
My art is not realism; I combine an expressionistic touch with a highly detailed style. My artistic style stems from my parents. My father is an avid outdoorsman and hunter, whereas my mother loves contemporary and modern art. So, when you blend the two together—you get my art.
Another important focus that I maintain when I paint, is color. I love color and pushing the colors on the palette brings a new life to a painting.
Wildlife art is as important as it is beautiful. This kind of art brings awareness and importance, to all the animals and fish that we rely on to survive.
Please enjoy the artwork and the animals.
