Dudley Dana studied photography at the University of Montana while working on his doctorate in clinical psychology in the early 1980s. Dudley was Artist In Residence in Glacier Park in 2000 and at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming in 2002. In 2001, his work was featured at the Hockaday Center for the Arts in Kalispell. In 2003, Dana was a Montana photographer for the America 24/7 Project. His photographs are featured in both the Montana and the Wyoming 24/7 books, which were published in October 2004. In 2004, Dana also had an exhibition of his photography at the University of Montana’s Museum of Art and Culture. In 2004, his work was included in a traveling exhibition to schools in all 54 of Montana’s counties. Dudley was the featured artist for the Daly Mansion’s “Derby Days” fundraiser in June 2004 and in 2004 also created a large grizzly bear montage for the University of Montana’s Grizzly Prowl project. Dudley is currently working on a book of Montana Roads and is on special assignment for the Montana Land Reliance.

Dana has been influenced mainly by Ernst Haas, who infused his work with dramatic color, motion and abstraction, all elements Dana himself likes to work with. Jill Enfield’s hand-painted photographs and the work of Gerhard Richter also influence his work.

All of Dudley Dana's photographs can be printed from 16" x 20" up to 40" x 60".
