Iranian artist Rashin Kheiriyeh is a leading children’s book author and illustrator, animation director, and painter. She has published 19 original picture books, garnering numerous awards in Iran and globally, and has illustrated a total of 40 picture books in Iran, France, Spain, Korea, Italy and India.
 
Her paintings have been featured in numerous group and solo shows in Iran, France, Germany and Austria, and the US.

Rashin received her BA and MA in Graphics from the University of Al-Zahara, Tehran. She is a member of the Institute of Illustrators in Iran, the Institute of Illustrators in the U.S., and the Institute of Painters in Iran.

She was invited to attend the annual conference of the Society of Children’s’ Book Writers and illustrators in Los Angeles in August 2011 and subsequently had a summer Residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She is presently continuing her studies there. While studying in New York, Rashin has continued to paint and has been working as a book cover designer. She has also done a web site for the 122 Street Kitchen in New York (www.122streetkitchen.com)

Rashin was one of the youngest participating artists in the exhibition Wishes and Dreams; Iran’s New Generation Emerges, an exhibition organized by Nancy Matthews for
Meridian International Center in Washington, DC, which toured a number of venues in the U.S. in 2007-08.

Rashin makes her home in Tehran.
